
Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall visit Wicklow, starting a two day visit today 20th of May 2019 and they are scheduled to visit a few locations in the county.
Among their likely destinations are Powerscourt House and Gardens, Glendalough and the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation.
Latest information is that Camilla will visit a women’s refuge in Bray but exact details of their itinerary are not known.
Security is a major concern and gardaí and security personnel have been checking out various locations in the county to ensure the safety of the royal couple during their visit.
Security has been stepped up as a result of increased dissident republican activity recently.

Most people welcome the visit. People in the tourist industry hope to benefit from the publicity and exposure surrounding the visit.
The couple have visited Ireland previously with visits to Dublin and Belfast and last year they visited Cork including The English market, following in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth.

They also visited Tralee, Killarney and Derrynane in County Kerry.
During their visit to Derrynane, the visited Daniel O’Connell’s House. Prince Charles has a great interest in history.
