Brittas Bay is one of the most popular beaches in County Wicklow.
It is a Blue Flag beach and has about 5k of smooth sands with the Irish Sea on one side and sand dunes on the other. During the Summer months crowds flock to the beach to enjoy bathing, swimming, sailing or walking. In the early morning or late evening you may see horse riders taking advantage of the peaceful setting and level sands for galloping. There are Lifeguards on hand during the Summer Season.
The surrounding area is mainly farmland and there are quite a few B&Bs and caravan parks to accommodate visitors. There are a number of interesting pubs and restaurants nearby including the famous Jack White’s and McDaniel’s.
Brittas is a Special Area of Conservation (SAC). The dunes are home to some rare species of wildlife and plants.
